Williams & Associates, Inc., is headquartered in North St. Louis City, at Kingshighway and Natural Bridge Blvd. Its current location is in the heart of the Black community and makes it accessible to the entire St. Louis City area. In an effort to expand its services to serve community members in North St. Louis County, the agency opens up a drop-in-center in March of 2019, known as SAFE (Support, Affirm, Free, and Empower) a Rustin’s Place. As with its predecessor, Rustin’s Place (named in honor of civil rights leader- Bayard Rustin) enables the agency to provide its programs and services to residents of St. Louis County.

Rustin’s Place, located in South St. Louis City, is also open to the diverse communities the agency serves, particularly Black LGBTQ persons. “Our Community, Our Health” is the mantra that drives our efforts to improve the overall health of marginalized communities in the St. Louis region. Our vision of 100% access and 0% disparities in health and healthcare services is the prize we are focused on. We are clear that to achieve this, we are the ones we have been waiting for; and after more than 20 years of serving the community, that reality is truer now, more than ever. If not us who? If not now, when?

Williams & Associates, Inc., is made up of a diverse group of public health professionals, volunteers, business and community leaders, academia, medical and concerned community members.

Our leadership consists of involved and committed board members who are very intentional about providing governance that supports the capacity and infrastructure of the agency. Backgrounds in corporate management, law, higher education, community organizing, and public health are just a few of the skill sets board members of Williams & Associates, Inc. bring to the table.

Our staff champions the agency's efforts through their professional involvement in direct services to the community and through advocacy in public health and health justice.  All staff, board members, volunteers, and community stakeholders serve and work with the agency under a set of agreed-upon operating values.

Liberation

We strive to dismantle all oppressive systems that limit access to equitable healthcare. We work through a Black- centered lens for the liberation of our community to live and love freely, openly, and unapologetically.

Empowerment

We create an environment that encourages and supports self-empowerment to make healthy choices.

Integrity

We ethically pursue our commitments to the community by taking responsibility for our collective actions and impact.

Health Justice

We advocate as servant leaders who navigate equitable public health access for all.

Innovation

We are forward thinking and adaptive based on research and community voices in the ever-changing landscape of Public Health.

Collaboration

We lead with compassion to build relationships and coalitions that enhance community health outcomes.

In the Spring/Summer 2021, Williams & Associates, Inc., stakeholders, board members, volunteers, and staff, committed to a future casting process via a Strategic Planning venture.  The intent of the process was to establish a bold and clear pathway for enhanced growth and development by Year 2023.  Building on the “Our Community, Our Health” mantra, our organization’s leadership deliberated for approximately six months on the who, what, when where and how of our future community health model, and all it should encompass.

After collective thinking a 2021/2023 Strategic Plan was born.  The plan includes a refined Mission Statement and Organizational Values authorized by the Board; the guidepost is anchored with nine targeted strategic action components with goals and key milestones. The details of this plan can be found under the Strategic Planning 2021-2023 on the agency website. We all move together unapologetically in the fight for better health outcomes of Black and other marginalized people.
